Daily Dose of Dolores

Rays of sunshine sprinkled across the unevenly paved sidewalk,

As stunning Victorian homes filled each block.

Passing to my right, a boutique shop stocked with unique pieces,

And approaching ahead, a mid-aged woman with her beautiful nieces.

Continuing onward towards 20th Street, an array of aromas strike my nose,

Perhaps the collection of authentic restaurants were cooking up a storm, who knows!

Accidental collision with foreign eyes of all sorts,

Resembled the same feeling as that at airports.

Hovering above were trees abundant with leaves of color green,

Avoiding a glance and completely ignoring would just be mean -

For this was summer in the city,

And staying indoors would be a pity.

Embarking the last hill of this stroll,

I arrived at the park which displayed the city as a whole.

Beginning with a layer of lush, green expanse of grass,

Followed by a skyline with buildings made of glass,

The blue sky acted like a shield to the land and cityscape mass.

Staring at what looked like a grand painting,

It became very easy to forget all that seemed draining,

For stillness is attainable even when it may be storming or raining.
