A moment is all it takes to change everything - mindset, choices, destiny, life, etc. A moment is what allowed me to leave my corporate job in search for meaning and purpose. That moment was Mbeurleup, Senegal. That moment was a few kind, translated words and week-long memories. That moment was full of gratitude, realization, and sentiments.

My very first post is a dedication to my host family in Senegal who made me realize the value and meaning of simple abundance. Paying respect to my eleven-year-old, poetic self, I describe my experience like so --

What brings tears to the eyes is the bonding of souls,

Souls which make up 100% of a person but is seen as part of a whole,

For those who eat together every night, sharing food in one bowl.

To the family who embraced us with an open door,

Not a day went by without moments that touched my core.

Thanking us for building a school,

They forget the shelter, culture, love, lessons, and blessings they have showered on us like a fool.

Arrival in Mbeurleup, Senegal on a September afternoon.
